Week 3 review

Wooah, finally! The 3rd week’s review along with the movie. Unfortunately as we’re all a bit busy, only have of the games have received a review. We’ll try to cover the other divisions next week then, depending on how much time we have

CoD vs magic

First map was q3w3 and it was a pretty intense game. after 3 mins the game ended up in a crosscap that lasted for about 5 minutes and then magic*energy managed to defend himself against 3 players and capped. In the 12th minute fonso aka nighthawk grabbed the flag and with some great help of team members he got the plag passed mid and got a cap and it was now a tie, 1-1. Last cap of this map goes to CoD, crosscap between magic*dmz and Krz, both teams defended their player well but CoD managed to get the flag back and Krz could cap. 2-1 for CoD.

Second map, q3wcp15. The first 2 minutes were pretty boring until fonso got hold of the flag and made it through some sneaky moves past the middle to cap, 1-0 for CoD. Five minutes into the game, magic wasn’t able to return the flag that fonso dropped. Freak picked it up and at the same time karl picked up CoD’s flag. He managed to get it over mid but died. Fortunately his teammates were around to take over. Meanwhile energy managed to kill freak and return so lil could easily cap. Just before halftime, we get another crosscap. Both teams are putting up with some great defence but in the 11th minute, Krz manages to kill the flagcarrier. All of a sudden chatfragger is on the enemy side WITH the enemy’s flag, returned his own flag and then ran back to base and cap (crazy move). The score is now 2-1 for CoD. The final cap went to joenii. He took the flag from base and just kept running like a zombie on speed and didn’t stop until he could cap. A very nice cap which ended the map in 3-1 victory for CoD. Good game!

RK vs BiG

In the beginning of q3w3 RK had some great chances to cap but BiG blocked them and managed to get the flag back, both teams had good powerupcontrol and it wasn’t until the 14th minute that bab managed to get a cap and BiG was no in the lead, 1-0. in the 16th minute hipshot managed to get by mid with some awesome teamplay, although a lot of the RK members spawned at the flagcarrier and managed to kill him but bab was too strong, he grabbed the flag and ran home to base with low health and an enemy in his back. 2-0 for BiG. 17th minute, RK wanted some cap but hipshot grabbed their flag and went pretty fast over to base to settle this game into a 3-0 victory for BiG and we go to the next map!

Q3wcp15, RK was mad and wanted some caps! RK got most of the powerups in the beginning but BiG was very strong in base and managed to kill the powerup-guy several times. In the 6th minute hanti grabbed the flag and ran for it, he had some enemys in his back but his team was with him on mid and he could pretty easily pass mid and cap, 1-0 for RK. Crosscap in the 8th minute and it was bab and wh1zz who were fighting for the 2nd cap. A lot of enemys were going for bab, in the end he couldn’t stay alive and RK managed to return the flag to make it 2-0. hanti had some great chances but there was always some kind of fail on mid, until the 14th minute, a great run by hanti with enemies in his back, running over mid and caps, 3-0 for RK. BiG needs a miracle to win. murz also wanted a cap and went for attack in the 18th minute and it was a success with pretty straightforward run. 4-0 for RK. sch wasn’t going to be capless for sure, so he also went for a cap, and with great teamwork in their base he managed to cap the final cap and the game ended 5-0 in favour of RK.

SH vs KoW

Fine teamwork by KoW on q3w3. They manage to get their first cap in the 5th minute and now the KoW’s are muuuuu’ing at the sheeps! 1-0 KoW. KoW is locking mid down and sh is having some trouble to get the flag by mid but eri sneaks by and gets the flag and with almost all the members of sh by his side he can get the flag from enemybase to home and finally cap, the score is now 1-1. BÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ! sh puts some pressure on KoW but those are locking down their base to stop any flags from going out. fo_tbh goes on attack and grabs the flag and he even passes mid only to get spammed to death. His teammates can easily pick the flag up and cap and KoW has now won the first map with 2-1.

In the beginning on q3wcp15 KoW had some great chances but sh players got some nice shots on mid and managed to return the flag, keeping it safe. In the 3rd minute KoW got all the powerups and fo_tbh did a really great quadrun. He got a lot of frags and then he went for flag, grabbed it, killed some more, passed mid and capped. 1-0 for KoW. In the 6th minute sh got most of the powerups but KoW managed to secure their base. No luck for sh! In the 10th minute there was a crosscap but only for about 30sec. fo_tbh got fragged and legend could cap the equaliser. Now sh is putting some pressure on KoW and getting the flag very often although without any results. In the 13th minute bzzd got the flag from sh and managed to get it past mid and cap with some great teamwork. While sh was attacking, Agrum sneaked into sh’s base and grabbed the flag and since the enemys were in his base he could easily get the flag past mid and cap. In the 18th minute bzzd gets the flag out of enemy base again and with help from a teammate he could pretty easily bring it home, score is now 4-0 for KoW. Last minute bzzd went for flag and mid was all clear. He could very easily cross and score. Very good game of KoW with 5-1 victory.

!nf vs ddly

Today !nfinity and ddly hit eachother in the arena. Off we go on w3! The result of this map is pretty conclusive: !nfinity won with 4-0. The Lithuanian team could hardly create a chance to get the flag out the German base. On the other hand, !nfinity needed only 5 strong minutes to show who’s the boss in town. Inumeg made his first cap in the 3rd minute. Rev followed right away with the 2-0. Some great teamplay led to a 3-0 by S4ko. The game was pretty much decided now. After halftime, Inumeg sealed it with a 4-0.

Q3wcp15 was a lot more exciting till the very last second! It wasn’t clear who was the winning side until the bell sounded. The game started well for !nfinity. S3ko brought his team in the lead in the 3rd minute. ddly was a lot more disciplined when it came to power-ups which allowed them to equalise two minutes later through Forgotten. S4ko responded with a nice cap through some good teamplay. In the 9th minute both bases were on fire and a crosscap situation was the result, although both sides bit the dust. At halftime, a lively Sa1la was able to equalise for ddly. The !nfinity base was under a lot of stress and quite a few flags went out, making the game pretty intensive. Shortly after the equliaser, Inumeg once again brought his team ahead but ddly countered with a nice cap from TuboRgAz who went for a swim during the run. The teams are tied! The German team became slightly nervous as Forgotton handed the flag over to Youen to score the 3-4. With time against them, !nfinity now pushed everything that they had into the offence. S4ko took the last regen and went for the flag with 30 seconds remaining. A great run over the middle, into their own base, and GOAL! Less than five seconds before the end, !nfinity captured the equaliser, bringing the game to a 4-4 score. That’s the way Quake should be. Thrilling till the very last second!

M vs 303

We probably got the longest crosscap situation in the league’s short history today. In the 2nd minute, both MadMarc and PYTON took the enemy flag on q3w3. A lot of PU rounds passed by, a lot of armour and megas were taken while the time moved on. Neither were in much danger although things got tricky for team M in the 9th minute as MadMarc was timing out in front of the enemy. The break took 7 minutes. Fortunately 303 showed some great sportmanship and GODSDOG didn’t return the flag and let MadMarc pick up the flag where he had dropped it. Unluckily for him, he got fragged in the 16 minute and the Polish flag returned. 0-1 for 303. With only a few minutes left on the clock, M was not able to equalise. Both teams were equally strong here and the end result might have been just the other way around as well.

However, while w3 had some good organisation, q3wcp15 went completely different. Team 303 totally overwhelmed M’s defence who clearly had issues keeping their flag safe on this map. 12 caps followed. Five times Monad and PYTON, GODSDOG and lordi one time each. The honour caps for M was made by Grizzly, ending the game in a 2-12 victory for 303.
